Take a tour with me...
As a wedding videographer in Seattle, I am always on the hunt for new and exciting wedding venues! I recently had the pleasure of visiting Trillium Nursery Farm, a new wedding venue in Redmond, Washington that just opened in 2023! This venue is only 10 minutes from where I grew up so I was excited at the opportunity to explore it and to share this gem with others! Let’s take a walk through the farm...
Imagine arriving at a hidden oasis just 30 minutes from the bustle of Seattle—a place where nature’s beauty, rustic charm, and serene spaces come together to create the perfect wedding backdrop. Walking through Trillium Nursery Farm, is like stepping into a dream of lush greenery and garden pathways, designed to make any wedding feel intimate and magical.
Arriving at the Farm
As you drive down a quiet road, the first thing you’ll notice is the calming sense of retreat. Trillium Nursery Farm is tucked away from the urban world, offering a peaceful rural setting just far enough to feel secluded, yet close enough for your guests to easily find. The entrance is modest, but as you turn onto the gravel driveway, the farm begins to reveal its beauty.
Tall trees line the edges of the property, creating a natural barrier that makes you feel like you’ve been transported into your own private forest. The air is fresh, and depending on the season, you might smell blooming flowers or the earthy scent of pine and cedar. As you step out of the car, you’ll hear birds chirping and the gentle rustling of leaves—a perfect prelude to your day ahead.
The Nursery
Not only is Trillium a stunning wedding venue, but it is open to the public 4 days a week as a tree nursery. Walking towards the farm, the first thing you'll notice is the vibrant colors of the farm. With it's lush greenery, bright red barn, and vibrant seasonal flowers. Sitting on 6 acres of land, the nursery hosts a wide array of plant species, from maples, cedars, and cypress to the rare and hard to find. The nursery is alive with colors, especially during the fall and spring time. Stone pathways wind through the beds, offering picture-perfect spots for couple's photos. The space is intimate yet large enough for mingling guests, providing a relaxed environment for everyone to settle in before the formalities begin.
The Ceremony Lawn
Next, your steps will lead you to the Ceremony Lawn, arguably the crown jewel of the farm. This wide-open grassy area is bordered by towering evergreens and colorful blooms, offering a stunning natural backdrop. As you walk across the lawn, you can already envision rows of chairs facing the spot where you and your partner will exchange vows beneath a canopy of trees. In the center of the lawn is the focal point of this wedding venue, which is it's large and magnificent water fountain. The fountain is located directly behind the ceremony arches and makes an incredible backdrop to your "I dos".
The Barn and Reception Area
After the ceremony, the walk continues towards the Barn and reception space. The rustic barn structure is both charming and functional, with exposed wooden beams and warm lighting that creates a cozy, welcoming vibe. It’s the perfect space for a reception with its open-air feel, while still providing shelter from any unpredictable weather, which in Washington you should always be prepared for.
Walking through the barn, you’ll notice that it’s easy to personalize—string lights, floral installations, and farm tables fit effortlessly into the rustic setting. The farm’s layout naturally encourages flow, with the reception area seamlessly connected to the ceremony lawn, so guests can transition from one part of the celebration to the next without feeling disconnected.
There’s also plenty of room outside the barn for a tented reception if that’s more your style. The wide, open field nearby can be transformed with tents, dance floors, and outdoor lounge areas, offering a more open-air feel with the stars above you at night.
